COVER STORY

LACUNA COIL has been unleashing its own brand of melodic metal into the world for over two decades, and with new album Delirium, the band has delivered the heaviest and most epic work of its career. Following the release of 2014’s Broken Crown Halo, they lost half of their longtime members. Undeterred, vocalists Andrea Ferro and Cristina Scabbia and bassist Marco Coti Zelati continued to look toward the future and focused on starting the next chapter in the Lacuna Coil story. We caught up with the two vocalists to get an insight into their world.

IN-DEPTH INTERVIEWS
PIERCE THE VEIL:
After the success of 2012’s Collide with the Sky catapulted Pierce the Veil to another level, there was a lot of expectations for the follow-up, and right from the start of their new album, Misadventures, it’s clear it was worth the wait. Founding vocalist, guitarist, and keyboardist Vic Fuentes and bassist Jaime Preciado discuss the creation of Pierce the Veil’s Misadventures.

ALL HAIL THE YETI: With crushing riffs and titanic hooks, All Hail the Yeti is coming for you. Four years have passed since their killer self-titled full-length debut, and returning with Screams from a Black Wilderness, they are upping the ante on every scale. We spoke with vocalist Connor Garrity to learn about where the band is coming from.

STITCHED UP HEART: Owing just as much to pop music as they do to their more brutal forefathers, the Los Angeles goth metallers deal in what frontwoman Mixi dubs as heart rock. Frontwoman Mixi speaks about the road leading up to the first Stitched Up Heart album.

NOTHING: A compelling story can only take a band so far, and fortunately, Nothing’s cacophonous blend of shoegazing and all things rock makes for an unforgettable listen. Guitarist and vocalist Domenic Palermo talks about the Philadelphia band’s latest string of hardships and how that relates to Tired of Tomorrow.

DEATH ANGEL: Now on its eighth full-length release, The Evil Divide, Death Angel has proven that they are the epitome of perseverance and survival. "We needed a concept that reflected us in our current progression, which led us to this album and concept,” according to guitarist Rob Cavestany.

OTEP: It’s in the message. That’s what nu metal crusaders Otep, led by outspoken frontwoman Otep Shamaya, wants people to understand. And if confronted, she’ll tell you so, which she does on the profound track “Equal Rights, Equal Lefts” from Otep’s new seventh full-length release, Generation Doom.

DEVILDRIVER: DevilDriver is showing no signs of slowing down, releasing its seventh studio album, Trust No One. Dez Fafara speaks on the evolution of DevilDriver’s sound, the various lineup changes over the last 13 years, and the importance of maintaining a positive outlook.
